Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has arrived in Port Harcourt, via the International Airport in Omagwa.
A crowd of supporters on Friday converged at the VIP wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, to welcome the reinstated governor.
Recall, that governor Fubara was scheduled to resume duties as Governor of Rivers State on Thursday, following the end of the six-month emergency rule.
However, while the House of Assembly resumed sitting on Thursday, Fubara did not show up at the Government House, despite the hundreds of supporters who gathered to welcome him.
Thousands of supporters who had thronged the Government House in Port Harcourt, on Thursday morning to welcome Fubara reportedly went home disappointed after waiting for hours and reconverged on Friday Morning.
TruthVanta reports that the Governor landed at the Port Harcourt airport at around 12:25 pm on Friday.
It was also observed that non of the other parties in the struggle that led to the emergency rule were sighted in the Airport. Most of the his supporters who were his commissioners, Special Aides, disbanded local government chairmen, were in attendance to welcome him back to the State.
