The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1 has lamented the state of economic development in Ibadanland.
TruthVanta reports that, Oba Ladoja made this known at the inauguration of Ibadan Monarch Economic and Investment Committee, at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, on Thursday.
Oba Ladoja who stated that he has observed that Ibadan as lost so many businesses, directed the newly inaugurated committee to investigate the reason for the decline.
The king who also decried the state of deserted roads and business structures, stresssd the need for urban renewal in Ibadan while urging the members of the committee to work assiduously to ensure that there is remarkable development in Ibadan.
Oba Ladoja also assured of his availability to the committee at all times.
Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated committee swung into action immediately, holding its first meeting at Conference room at the Olubadan Palace, immediately after meeting with the king.
Speaking to newsmen after the closed door meeting, former head of service and the appointed secretary of the committee, Chief Tajudeen Aremu expressed the team's determination towards reviving the dormant business hubs in Ibadanland.
Chief Tajudeen added that they have highlighted certain companies to start with, and will equally be reaching out to certain organizations and individuals to source for funding.
