The newly elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has announced that his leadership will proceed with its first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday, November 18, at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

Turaki revealed this on Monday after submitting a formal petition to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Garki, Abuja, against the expelled National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and other removed officials.

Addressing journalists, he stressed that no force or circumstance would prevent him and other members of the newly inaugurated leadership from convening at the secretariat on Tuesday, insisting that they were fully prepared to assume control of the party’s administrative structures.

This development follows a separate announcement by the Nyesom Wike-aligned faction of the PDP, led by Muhammed Abdulrahman, which also scheduled an emergency NEC and Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting for the same day.

The notice, issued on Monday by Anyanwu—who was expelled at the Ibadan convention—stated that the Wike-backed faction’s meeting would also take place at the NEC Hall of the party’s Wadata Plaza headquarters.
