The 9th edition of the Pacesetters Entertainment and Recognition Awards (PERA), with the theme “Celebrating Ingenuity,” is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Mauve 21 Event Center, Ring Road, Ibadan. The event enjoys strong support from Nigerian Breweries’ flagship brands, Goldberg and Maltina.

At a press briefing in Ibadan on November 24, Rotimi Martins (Alariwo), Executive Producer of PERA and CEO of COK Media, reiterated the awards’ mission to recognise outstanding contributions by indigenes and residents of Oyo State across various fields.

Dr. Adesina Adegunle, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, described PERA as an initiative that has grown significantly over the years and promised that future editions would have an even greater impact. Organising Chairperson Yeye Omolara Farounbi expressed her excitement over the journey, highlighting the platform’s role in connecting with exceptional talents across industries.

This year, PERA will present special recognition awards to distinguished figures and industry pioneers including Mrs. Olaitan (CEO, BCOS), Mama Y2D, Kunle Afod, and Senwele Jesu, among others. With 25 categories in total, the awards committee emphasized that selections are based on merit, evaluating creativity, presentation, consistency, and social media presence rather than lobbying.

A Nominees Party will be held on December 5, where all nominees will receive official certificates of nomination. PERA remains a self-funded initiative, and organisers are inviting additional sponsorship to expand categories and reach.

Supported by Parallex Bank, the 2025 edition is dedicated to the late Akinloye Tofowomo, aka Akin Shuga, a close friend of the executive producer. Beyond being an awards ceremony, PERA continues to serve as a movement that celebrates deserving talent and excellence in the entertainment industry.
