The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has sustained his family’s long-standing tradition of philanthropy as he hosted hundreds of widows, elderly persons and children to a festive outreach programme in Eruwa, Oyo State.
The event, held at the popular Ori-Oke Ogundoyin in Ibarapa East Local Government Area, brought together over 1,000 beneficiaries who received food items, clothing materials and cash gifts as part of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Speaking at the gathering, Ogundoyin said the annual outreach was a continuation of the humanitarian legacy of his late parents, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin and Chief Mrs. Tina Ogundoyin, both widely remembered for their generosity to the less privileged.
According to the Speaker, caring for widows, the elderly and children remains both a moral duty and a personal commitment shaped by values instilled in him from childhood.

“This is a legacy I grew up witnessing, and I am proud to sustain it. Supporting the vulnerable in our communities is not optional; it is part of who we are,” he said.

Children were also a major focus of the programme, as they received special gifts and treats in the festive spirit, drawing excitement and appreciation from families in attendance.

Ogundoyin thanked residents of Ibarapa East for their continued support and assured them of increased developmental interventions in 2026. He disclosed that several constituency projects were nearing completion, including a four-classroom block with offices at Temidire, a six-classroom block at Ojonamo, a town hall in Maya and a public toilet facility.

He added that completed projects across the local government include over 40 boreholes, a maternity centre in Lagaye, a mosque at Oloro and the completed Eruwa Youth Movement Secretariat, among others.

The Speaker also called for unity among members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibarapa East, reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance and effective representation.

The event attracted political leaders and community stakeholders, including the Chairman of the Elders Council in Ibarapa East, Pa Moses Ojoawo; the PDP Chairman in the local government, Alhaji Ganiyu Aderibigbe; the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Kazeem Arogundade; the Iyaloja-General of the South West, Chief Mrs. Odunola Danjuma; Chief Sunday Omiagbo and Hon. Gbenga Obalowo, among others.
