Oyo State House of Assembly has passed vote of confidence on the Seyi Makinde led executive, describing it as transparent, and development oriented.

TruthVanta reports that the declaration came in its plenary resumption from 6-week legislative recess held at the Legislative Chamber, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, as presided over by speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, today.

During the session, which marked a return to full legislative business, members recounted the achievements of the executive arm during the recess, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, governance reforms, and local government development.

The House, in a motion moved by Majority Leader, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin and seconded by Chief Whip, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, while reacting to the alleged approval of a fresh N300 billion naira Loan request at an emergency sitting less than four weeks ago, noted that the Seyi Makinde-led administration has succeeded in improving the road infrastructure across the seven zones of the state, health, and security, as well the annual internally generated revenue from 40 billion to 102 billion naira, pledging its commitment, hard hard work and loyalty.

In their reactions, members representing Orelope State Constituency, Jimoh Ibrahim and Member representing Kajola State Constituency, Hon. Abdullazeez Musibau's whose vote of confidence were politically motivated, called the government to look inward in financing its projects, rather than obtaining loans for more statewide development.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin who said the state has improved its infrastructural development in the last six years, despite going sixth on foreign loan and fourth on internal loan debt in the Southwest Nigeria as published by the Debt Management Office in the Q1 of 2025, noted that the House will continue to enable each member perform his legislative mandate, without any intimation, urging members to maintain democratic dividends to his respective Constituency.
