The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has congratulated the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State on the successful conduct of its State Congress, which took place today at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The Speaker, who cast his vote during the Congress, described the event as peaceful, transparent, and a demonstration of the party’s maturity and unity. 

He commended the re-election of Prince Dayo Ogungbenro as the State Chairman of the PDP and congratulated all other newly elected executives.

Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin stated that the congress was not only a constitutional requirement but also a strategic opportunity to further strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“I want to extend my warmest congratulations to our re-elected State Chairman, Prince Dayo Ogungbenro, and to all other new and returning members of the PDP State Executive Committee. Their emergence is a testament to their loyalty and dedication to our party,” the Speaker said.

He further appreciated the exemplary leadership of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, whom he described as the pillar of the party in the state. 

The Speaker also thanked all national officers and leaders of the PDP who attended and contributed to the success of the Congress.

“The presence of Governor Seyi Makinde and other top PDP leaders from across the country shows the unity, focus, and strength of our party. I commend His Excellency for his continuous support and leadership, which have brought stability and growth to the PDP in Oyo State,” Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin added.

Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin urged the new executives to work assiduously in consolidating on past successes and in preparing the party for a resounding victory in future elections.
